Sketchbook: Summer 2013 - Page 6
July 3rd and 4th 2013
Still not done uploading these. Here are some more of my old sketches that I did a couple years back in 2013. The scans aren't the best, and they got smudged over the years despite my spraying them with hairspray.
The two sketches I did on July 3rd are the Madonna of the Magnificat, based on Botticelli's beautiful image of the same name, and a detail of the head of Christ from Heinrich Hofmann's famous painting Christ and the Rich Young Ruler. The other two sketches I did on July 4th, are a study of the head of Mary from Michelangelo's famous Pieta and a detail sketch of Filippino Lippi's head of the Virgin Mary from one of his lovely Madonna and Childs.
