"The Knight and Squire"
Finished July 21st, 2009
Probably took some 8 or 9 hours to do
Used pen, paper, ArtRage and Paint

For =Drocan for his novel-in-the-process "Chivalry". These are two of his characters from that story. Sir Craig is a 30 year old Scottish knight and the frend of the main charcater, Peter. Allan is Peter's 14 year old English squire. The novel takes place in 1338. I based his armor off of LaHire's in the movie "Joan of Arc" with Leelee Sobieski (great movie, by the way. ;))

I hope you all like it! :D

Wonderful! Not only is it fantastic as its own art piece, but it was very helpful to get some fresh perspective. Namely the arming cap on Allen, and the Studded jerkin over Craig's mail. I didn't think leather or quilted armor would blend as well with plate as it does here.
Thanks so much!

Thank you! I'm very glad you found it helpful! :aww: I did just want to clear something up, when you gave me the charcater information how I read it at first was that Allen was Craig's squire, instead of Peters', but then I read it again and realized the way it read he could've been either. But then I figured I had made a mistake and he was Peter's squire. So is Allen Peters' or Craigs' squire?

Officially he's Peter's. Craig doesn't have one. But I guess he may do the occasional odd job for Craig, too, and in turn Craig might teach him a few things. But officially, they have no professional relationship.

Thanks! :D Well, that part is just digital art. I just make a new layer on ArtRage and use a luminence kind of tool.

I love it! The little pad thingy on the dark brown horse looks really realistic. And pretty horsies!
