The Wadi Khalath is where my main character Daethryn lives. That's actually her by the tent making evening tea. This is probably one of my better watercolors, in terms of lighting and compostion, and the fact that I finally have discovered the secret of watercolors: layers. It might seem rather obvious, but I always got impatient so my watercolors always were terrible and blotchy. Hence, why I used watercolor pencils before. But now I want to start getting into straight watercolors. They are a very cool medium, and I'd like to get better at them.

I was looking around for pictures and information for my story on desert life and I came across this picture which I really liked. The composition and the lighting I thought was really cool, so I used it for a reference picture: [link]

By the way, those black things in the foreground are supposed to be goats. I know...I know....they're not very good.
